About us

The Beier Group grew from small beginnings when in 1929, O.T.H. Beier, a young pioneer left Germany against the wishes of his family and established himself in Durban as a wool merchant.

In 1931 O.T.H. Beier received an offer from Storm and Company to manage their newly erected scouring plant. He accepted the challenge and within a short time, exports to Europe commenced. Two years later he concluded an agreement to take over the scouring plant from Storms.

As the economy of the country steadily improved, O.T.H Beier saw the vast potential for industrial development in South Africa and embarked upon a policy for diversification and expansion which has continued to the present day.

The company operates from the South African based head office of Beier Industries (Pty) Ltd in Pinetown, 15 km from the east coast city of Durban, where Engineered Industrial Textile products are produced for a wide variety of industries.

The combination of Albany International's worldwide infastructure and Beier Industries' expertise and experience in the Southern African subcontinent ensures that Beier Albany can offer its customers the latest technology, backed by world class service.
